Dates: October 23, 2017

Time: 1-5pm

Explore the ancient art of painting with melted beeswax and paint pigment. This is an intensive workshop open to all experience levels and painting preferences but a basic understanding of elements and principles of art would be beneficial.

Participants will learn techniques and methods of using this exciting medium. We will discuss materials, practice fusing, develop layers, scrape, inlay, incise, and texturize. Collage, transfer, imbedding, glazing, and monotype will be demonstrated and can be experienced in future advanced classes.

There will be an opportunity to create several finished pieces.
All materials will be supplied.

This class will be taught by Susan Irish, encaustic artist. Susan is a gifted teacher with years of experience. She packs a lot of information and opportunities into a workshop.
